Advertising with signs and banners is one of the most popular ways of advertising as there are so many places along sides of roads and such where they can attract peoples attention. There are many different types of signs and banners you can have today there are extremely large banners that tend to be seen along roads or sides of buildings so they are large enough for people in passing cars to see from a distance, then there are smaller ones for on the streets, and around the shop floor if you are promoting a certain product. There are certain things to take in to consideration before buying your sign or banner:

Placement - Where you are going to place the sign or banner is one of the most important things to think about before buying your sign or banner especially if it is of the larger variety as moving it once placed could prove a problem. You need to think about where most people are going to see the sign and what is your target audience for what you are advertising for example if you were advertising a subject that may interest drivers such as an offer on car tyres then you would be best placing the sign some where along the side of the road. Although if you were advertising a special offer on coffee then you would want the sign to be most noticeable to pedestrians on a bus shelter for example. Then there are signs that you can stand freely around your premises these are generally used for the advertising of a specific product they can stand next to the product you are advertising, drawing the public's attention to it.

Colour and font - This is important as you have to think about what would be most suitable for the type of sign you have like if you had a large sign on the side of a building you would want the colours to be a lot brighter and bolder than if they were going to be at eye level with the public. However, you still want the signs at eye level to the public bold to attract their attention but if the colours are too bright they would be more like an eye sore to the people walking by. Generally the bolder the font the better as it is easier for people passing to read and primary colours tend to be best for attracting people's attention whilst not being too bright.

Size - The size of your sign or banner is greatly determined by where you plan to place the sign once completed. If you plan to hang the banner from the side of building then the bigger the better as you want the writing to be easily read from quite a distance. If the sign is for street or in shop use it should be at eye level and usually around the height of a tall person (about 6 ft) would be sufficient.

There are many companies that offer lots of variations of signs and banners for advertising, as well as the hanging banners they now have a selection of window signs and even floor signs. Taking all the above things in to consideration before actually buying your sign will make your life much easier in the future and also save you money as you will have the right sign for your requirements first time.
